twitter: more...

There’s a few reasons as to why I’ve decided to depart from LiveJournal and head to my own domain and my own blogging service. I felt that LiveJournal was getting too restrictive and I couldn’t officially call it my own. For some unexplicable reason, I felt that I couldn’t share all the gadgety things that I wanted to share, so that left me with little else to post about. I may or may not post there in the future, but for now, I’m going to see where this website can take me.

I originally intended for myself to program the entire blogging backend like what Scott’s doing, but I think I will have to take things slowly. For now I will use WordPress as I get reacquainted with PHP and mySQL. I really have to give myself a reason to learn those two technologies, as well as brush up on JavaScript and AJAX. One of my main priorities is putting together a semi-finalized portfolio of what I’ve done so that I can proudly brandish my website. I can say stuff like, “Oh yeah, to take a look at my work, just go to richardshih.com.” That’ll be nice.
