My name is Richard Shih. I am a Software Engineering student at the University of Waterloo. I like indie movies, alternative music, clean designs, and taking pictures. Oh, and who can forget long walks on the beach?
AROUND THE WORLD
I love to travel. I do it for the food, the architecture, and the culture. I enjoy analyzing how the same people in different settings can be so different from me. From January to April, 2008, I had the amazing opportunity to explore most of Europe. You can read and see about my exploits.
THROUGH A PINHOLE
Photography is a way of allowing me to describe to other people how I see the world. I shoot with my trusty, now onto its 5th year, 'ol reliable Canon Digital Rebel, with a side helping of a Canon SD870 IS. My photos can be found on Flickr.

I'm an opinionated person and like to debate about the most miniscule of things; I try to maintain a broad understanding of what's going on in the world. Competitions usually pique my interest, so I love reading about Sony vs. Microsoft (vs. Nintendo), Apple vs. Microsoft, and the US presidential elections.
